After several successful years competing in Powerlifting at national and international level and winning medals at British, European and World championships I decided I wanted a new challenge and change of direction. I have always had an interest in Martial Arts since being a kid and so decided to attend some casses.
I immediately enjoyed the atmosphere, challenge and learning and so tried out different Boxing, K1, BJJ clubs that I could train at, in order to learn as much as possible.
After just 3 months of training I stood in as a late replacement in what was to be my first fight, a heavyweight professional fight which I won by TKO in the second round. This spurred me on to want to keep learning and developing my skills and so found numerous boxing, K1, BJJ clubs that I could go and train at and also continue my MMA career with several other fights.
I joined the NFM Team midway through 2013 after deciding i needed a good MMA team that i could train with on a regular basis and to help me put all my skills together. There i was fortunate to find the likes of Dean Amasinger, Carl Mitchell, Nick Osipczak and Dani Vlad all coaching.
After a year with the Team I feel as motivated as ever and am staying active competing in MMA, BJJ, boxing and K1. Its a continuous learning process but as a team we all work together to help improve our knowledge, fitness and mental strength which Is all needed in order to excel in Martial Arts.
